Black love movies don’t come in many different fonts. In 2022, Kid Cudi decided to create something that had a different font. Browsing Netflix Entergalactic was a recommendation for me. I was convinced this movie would be just another cartoon with simple dialogue and no true plot. However, I was pleasantly surprised but the depth of the storyline and the development of characters throughout the movie.

Jabari and Meadow are both living our their dreams and creating the lives they dreamed and worked for. Unexpectedly they met one another and an instant connection was made between the two. Sparking a friendship that created a slow burn we all were rooting for up until it came into fruition.

The depth of the movie stood out when the ex showed out and caused Jabari and Meadow to part ways due to a miscommunication. This teaches a tough lesson many people don’t understand until the damage is done. Being friends with an ex is a complicated course that few agree with. Once the walls were broken down, the truth was told and communication opened the love filled our screens and hearts. This movie will go down as a Black Love Classic that everyone no matter their cultural background should watch and embrace.
