My freshman year of college I attended our study abroad tabling. I always knew that I wanted to study abroad but my heart was set on Europe. However, that changed when I realized my grad trip to Australia would be during their winter. I soon changed my mind and told my mom that I would be studying abroad in Sydney. Once I submitted my application my dedication to get to Australia deepened and it’s still the best decision I made while in college.
IES Abroad Internship
During my process of looking for the right study abroad program I landed on IES. Through this program I would be offered guaranteed, personalized placements in a global company or organization. This program gave me hands on experience working full time during the summer while taking a 6 credit course.
Not only was I an intern during my summer in Australia. I have the privilege as serving as a IES Correspondent: using my social media account to publish content for activities, internship work life, and how to balance life in another country. After my time in Sydney was over I served as an IES Ambassador and got to reach out to future students looking to engage in the program as well.

June - July 2024
Working alongside local hotels I was creating and editing content and uploading new tours that will be displayed in hotel rooms and viewed by tourists. During the process, I had the opportunity to go on these tours and perfect them for others so they will be able to enjoy and embrace the wonderful city of Sydney, Australia.
My final project was to film a short promotional video for the Crown Plaza Coogee Hotel. As an aspiring film director I took this mission on with passion.

Vivid Light Festival
Event 1
Vivid Sydney is Australia’s largest festival, transforming the city into a wonderland of light, music, and ideas. The Opera House sails and Harbour Bridge have light projected onto them as visitors can engage in live performances, creative talks, and a Light Walk. -

State of Origin
New South Wales v Queensland
Established in 1980, the fiercely popular annual rugby league series between the Blues and Maroons, where players represent their home state. While studying I was a New South Wales girl. However, due to a passionate family in Brisbane. I have since been turned into a Queensland friend.

Blue Mountains
Hiking
If I could back in time and tell myself that the 400 steps of death isn’t a good idea, I would! But in that moment I probably still wouldn’t listen. The stunning scenery of the cliffs, forests, and the waterfall made those steps worth it. If you love to hike I highly recommend this.

Omar Apollo
2nd Concert Ever
Our first week of classes my roommate Olivia gasped. Being nosy I asked what was wrong. Omar Apollo was performing a week before we go back to the State. Never listening to Omar before I dived into his discography. Best decision and $70 spent. I feel in love with Omar and even got to see one of my favorite artist RUEL as a surprise performance.
